How verification works

  1. Ed25519 digital signature

    Every credential is signed with our private Ed25519 key using the W3C Data Integrity eddsa-rdfc-2022 cryptosuite. Altering a single character breaks the signature.

  2. Open Badges 3.0

    Credentials follow the 1EdTech Open Badges 3.0 standard on the W3C Verifiable Credentials 2.0 data model, so they are portable and machine-verifiable.

  3. did:web issuer identity

    Our public key is published as a DID document on this domain. Anyone can check that a signature was made by Cortiqo Labs, without trusting this page.

  4. Live revocation status

    Each verification checks the current status of the record. If a credential has been withdrawn, this page says so clearly.
